When you donate your car locally with Revive Auto in St. Paul, we come right to your door and your gift supports people who are blind or visually impaired through Heritage for the Blind. Whether you’re in Macalester-Groveland, Frogtown, Highland Park, or Dayton’s Bluff, we arrange a free pickup with a local tow operator, handle most of the paperwork, and send you a tax receipt. You get an old vehicle out of your driveway, and your donation stays connected to the community you live in.
We serve the entire Twin Cities area from St. Anthony Park and the West Side to suburbs like Maplewood, Roseville, Woodbury, Eagan, and beyond. If you’re further out near Stillwater, Cottage Grove, or up toward Forest Lake, we’ll still coordinate a pickup at no cost to you—timing just depends a bit on distance and tow-truck availability. Your car, truck, SUV, or van can be running or not; our driver meets you where the vehicle is parked, loads it up safely, and you’re done. Local pickup, local impact, and a simple, hassle-free process.
How to schedule your free local pickup
1. Tell us about your vehicle and location
Start by sharing a few details about your car (year, make, model, condition) and exactly where it’s parked in the St. Paul area—whether that’s a driveway in Como, a street spot in Merriam Park, or a lot in Maplewood. This helps us match you with a local tow operator and check access (alleys, underground garages, tight streets) so pickup goes smoothly.
2. Pick a convenient pickup day and time window
We’ll offer available pickup windows based on your location. Inner-city neighborhoods like Downtown, Summit-University, and Payne-Phalen can often be scheduled quickly, while more rural addresses outside the core Twin Cities may need a little extra routing time. We’ll confirm a date and a general time window that works for you, then assign a local driver familiar with your area.
3. Prepare your keys, title, and access details
Before the tow truck arrives, remove personal items and gather your keys and Minnesota title if you have it. If the vehicle is in a secured lot, shared alley, underground garage, or HOA-controlled area, make sure we have gate codes, instructions, or building contacts. The driver needs clear access for a tow truck or flatbed to safely hook up and remove the vehicle.
4. Meet the tow driver (or arrange no-contact handoff)
On pickup day, a local tow operator will arrive at your St. Paul or suburban address, confirm the paperwork, and load the vehicle. You can meet them in person, or, if needed, arrange a no-contact key handoff (such as leaving keys with building staff or in a secure spot you describe in advance). Pickup is always free, and most visits take 20–30 minutes on-site.
5. Receive your tax receipt and complete your donation
After the vehicle is picked up and processed, Revive Auto will send you a donation receipt on behalf of Heritage for the Blind. In most cases, you can claim at least a $500 deduction; if the vehicle sells for more than $500, you’ll receive IRS Form 1098-C with the final sale information. Keep this with your records for tax time and know your local donation is making a real impact.
Local pickup gotchas
Tight St. Paul streets, alleys, and winter parking rules
Tip: Many St. Paul neighborhoods—like Summit Hill, Cathedral Hill, and West 7th—have narrow streets, alley access, and winter parking restrictions. Let us know if the car is in an alley, on a hill, or subject to city parking rules. Sometimes we’ll ask you to move it to a nearby side street or lot for easier flatbed access and to avoid tickets, especially during snow emergencies.
Gated garages, secured lots, and HOA/permit parking
Tip: If you live in a condo, townhome, or apartment near Downtown, Lowertown, or around the Green Line, access can be controlled by gates, fobs, or permits. Before pickup day, confirm how the driver will get in and where they can park briefly while loading. Share gate codes, building office contacts, or temporary parking instructions so the tow operator isn’t delayed or turned away.
Very rural or outlying addresses outside the core metro
Tip: If your vehicle is outside the main Twin Cities area—perhaps on acreage outside Hastings, Stillwater, or up toward North Branch—pickup is still free but may take longer to schedule. Rural roads, unpaved driveways, or seasonal access issues (mud, snow) can affect which tow truck we send and when. Give us clear directions and note any challenges so we can plan the right equipment and route.
Missing Minnesota title or unsure about plates
Tip: Donations usually go faster when you have your MN title in hand, but don’t worry if you’re missing it—tell us up front so we can explain your options. In Minnesota, you’ll typically remove and keep your license plates before the vehicle is towed. If the title lists more than one owner, both may need to sign depending on how names appear. When in doubt, ask us and we’ll walk you through it.
If at-home pickup is tricky
If at-home pickup is tricky for your exact situation—maybe your car is in a tight underground garage in Lowertown, stuck off a narrow alley near the West Side, or you’re outside the core Twin Cities tow radius—we can usually offer other options. In some cases, a friend or family member can move the car to a more accessible curb or lot, or you may be able to meet a driver at a nearby open parking area, park-and-ride, or workplace in St. Paul or a close suburb. Talk through your situation with us; we’ll help you find the simplest local path to complete your donation safely and at no cost.
St. Paul pickup coverage
Revive Auto serves the full St. Paul community and broader Twin Cities metro: from Highland Park, Midway, and Battle Creek to suburbs like Roseville, Little Canada, Mendota Heights, and Woodbury. We also coordinate pickups in nearby Minnesota communities such as Cottage Grove, Stillwater, White Bear Lake, and beyond, with timing varying a bit as we move farther from the urban core. In Minnesota, it’s best to have your title ready and remove your license plates before towing; you’ll generally turn plates in or follow Minnesota Driver and Vehicle Services guidance if you cancel registration. We’re not a law office, but we’re happy to explain the steps so your local donation goes smoothly.
